Food and hosting gatherings; weight; writing

Berkeley, Saturday, October 17, 2026 6:14 a.m.

Ok. Well, I have not writing here in a few days. I did some observations on coffee plants, based on clear labels of a coffee shop in the city. I realized that coffee grows in altitude, about 1,500 meters or so. The bottles had three different places in the world, their latitudes were not the same, but not too far off either. Of course Ethiopia was one of them. I will write more on that one day.

I am a bit tired now. A friend visit me last evening. Plenty of meat and twenty four ounces of Deschuttes beer. A great beer.

But it was too much. It is great to place the food on the table, so people help themselves. It is like a feast. But the goal, at least at home is not to finish everything.

Gatherings are great, and particularly when it is about and around food, and involves the whole process.

I learned that chicken peas or garbanzos are from Lebanon. Is that true?

I learned that liver, might be calf liver is a common food in Goa, and goes well with beer.

Good learnings.

There are more.

Based on another conversation and place, I learned a bit of the Nacimiento River, which flows into the Salinas River.

I filled in a questionarie a few minutes ago. I hope without errors.

Schedule is a thing to fix. Some planning in the food intake, which usually is the case, but not on every call.

The right calls were made. Might I should have placed the last piece of meat placed on my dish for my meals today.

Anyways, I walked about two miles after. It is just two miles. But it is something.

Many things to keep up with, including the learnings from the John McPhee book.

Correspondance is taking a pile, though. First time.

I have start using two large language model to copy edit my text. I have buult some strict rules for them. I draft as elsewhere my zero drafts, but the copyediting and reviewing my rules take a bit of time, with some learning. I assume I used to deliver only zero drafts in the past.
