Dominion

I stayed at home for a little longer. Yesterday, was not necessarily a good night of sleep. I must write a few things about that and place. Although, a place have its limitations.

There are a few things to do.

Eaten calf liver has been good. And it be a good source of B12, which is good for the brain. I do not take pills, still. Would see how long in my life I can go without any supplements or painkillers or things like that. But there might be exceptions at some point.

I must take a bit of sun while it is still there. Sun baths are great. My grandma lived nearly 101 years with those.

Our family ate pork blood sausage as well, or morcilla, mainly during carnival. I do find a kind of stupid and definitely a source of pollution: gums and several simple snacks. But not too many strong feelings or hard feelings on those. What it works works, and there are things that doesn’t. What kind of food are chitos for instance?

Regardless, many things in life is about boundaries, but also blending with what is out there. We have several sources of food available, but we might not eat for lack of knowledge, rather than for difficulty of accessing to them. Blood sausage and liver are extreme examples, but I would guess that the pork intestines and its blood, as well as the calf liver, might go to waste? What is the source of pâté though?

Anyways, regarding the title. Dominions is a rank of angels as well. A higher rank. I think it is the 4th highest rank out of 9th. They are higher than virtues but lower than Thrones. The highest rank are the Seraphim, then there are the Cherubim and so on. My guardian angel, and yours, are in the lower rank. Still higher than us. Right?

But this brief post is not about the dominion angels. It is about, and it might be incomplete, because I will leave for doing other things soon, it is about an analysis of the word dominion, in its definition, and as stated in genesis 1, around 1:26 to 1:28? “Then God said: Let us make human beings in our image, after our likeness. Let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the tame animals, all the wild animals, and all the creatures that crawl on the earth. God created mankind in his image; in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. God blessed them and God said to them: Be fertile and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it. Have dominion over the dish of the sea, the birds of the air, and all the living things that crawl on the earth.” Gn 1:26-28.

OK. I was searching a bit about it. And currently, I continue reading a master piece by John McPhee the Control of Nature, which is a sort of paradox of how, for instance, in Los Angeles, there are those debris dams, debris basin, to control mud floods, debris flows. I have seen those hydropower dams in the Trishuli basin. I do non’t know much about them yet.

I think that one interpretation of the domination word in genesis, might be different than control. I was searching a few things through chatgpt, I see, a few years ago I did not finished to read the encyclical letter from Pope Francis: Laudato Si, although, I might have read about half of it. It is key to finish what one starts, but circumstances might not allow to it. to be read. Apparently, the dominion, it is rather call to stewardship. Something, I can say directly from the Genesis text for instance, the introduction of gray wolves in Yellowstone National Park to restore the river, and so control the elk population and their access to the creek, and the re-flourishing of native bank plants. That is an stewardship action. We are not necessarily controlling what the wolves and elks do. But we guided through a reintroduction of them to habitat to thrive.

Mud flow, debris flow, ice dams, are of course not new, although, one can assess how ice glaciers, and their vulnerability have changed over time. Dominion it is rather a city planning and landscape planning on how to settle and live in that landscape conditions.

Beyond that topic, hardly ever one would control the water, control the flood, i.e. It might brings to the question the actual term and misleading of the term flood control.
