Join or Die

A few topics:

Benjamin Franklin, likely, in the Pennsylvania Gazette had the famous cartoon of the split snake into thirteen pieces with the tongue saying unite to conquer. I believe it was thirteen future states at the time. I do not know the story. A version of the cartoon has its origins in 1685, about 69 years before, I think in France, by french artist Nicolas Verrien. He had the serpent split into two pieces.

I do not know to date the details of the thinking of the time to the born of this country, which finally had its Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. But I can see that there were several years on the making of those long lasting ideals. See for instance the May 9, 1754 cartoon, which was about 22 years before the actual declaration. I would need to learn about the war, the making of administrative system, and more.

In another topic, although, I am a bit tired, might be for the food, or a beer the day before, or the late sleep.

It would be interested to see the handcrafted houses in Canyon, CA. It is a hidden gem, which is stop being a hidden or even gem, after it is common folk. The Carmelites who are now in Kensington lived there between 2012 and 2014.

Good facts, bad facts, plenty of information, sometimes I got flood with a particular source, but the walk is good.

I also learned that the name of Capitan or I do know what was his rank, Moraga, was Joaquin.

I need to learn more about ferns. Also about Cedar tree types. There is the common Lebanese Cedar, which even its flag, but the west coast, and particularly Berkeley, in the Rose Garden have a few. I do not know their types.

I learned to more or less track the underground creek Lincoln and Schoolhouse, which follows between Cedar and Virginia Streets. The transect at Josephine street or something like that gives a clear impression of the change of basins. Milvia gives some of that impression. It is possible to see the creek near Cedar and Sacramento I believe. And if correct, it is possible to listen it at Virginia and Arch, but probably in other places as well.

I do hate the landfilling of marshes through the bay, and likely through the world. Although I do not have first hand exposure for instance to the tallado of mangroves.

England team was in secret hotel location now, I think in Mexico. The Ecuadorian players received the most noisier and longer serenata with loud drums, horns, loud engines, motorcycles, etc. Not fair play, but it is part of the game. Actually, they should have thanked all the attention to flip the critique.

I do not know how to say habas in English. I love them. I ate them “today”, yesterday, and plenty of tostado, or roasted corn.

Engine sound is an art.

Some beautiful places on campus are hammered or damaged by constant machine generation noise, which likely support equipment and climatize the interior of buildings. But both visuals and acoustics of those most be improved.

Places, locations, experiences, are driven by smell, visuals, sound, and even touch to some extent.

Need to keep organizing better my place. Sometimes it wins me. Finally I got a few interesting food things at the market.

A good skill is to being able to write the dissertation or a book or article just by hand. Then, do the other process in the machine, screen.

By the way, those machines, computers, were also invented by Blaise Pascal.

Not so long ago, I learned that he also invented public transit. There is a plaque with his name, near where he was born. I am completely blank, about his place. Oh my brain.

Yesterday, I also was only able to fully grasp might be about four or five out of the about 12 new names I learned. Need to stay focused.

I saw another coyote today. One of campus, one just walking nearby where I live. Poor cats? I wonder what the coyotes are eating.

Still we need to restore the creeks, if actual bears can make a come up. Although, that would be conflictive.

The supreme court kept the brith right citizenship.

A coyote swam to Angel island not so long ago.

Those animals are surprising me.

There was a native president in Mexico, forgot the year, Benito Juarez. But I do not think he was elected. Need to learn the relationships between France and England, or France and the United States at the time.

Today there is a heat waive in the East Coast and in all Europe, but the Bay Area is not necessarily warm, nor cold eaither. It is a great temperature and foggy as usual in those times.

Keiko Fujimori president of Peru.

Fake a.i. I think made said to the former coach of Ecuador that the players were threatened before the match.

in between the noise, and bad journalism at Esto es Futbol in marca 90, it is possible to listen to some comments. But the problem is that they invest most of the time just blaming each other between the panelist, and not necessarily informing. I learned about the program in 2022, watched a bit at times during the world cup in 2022. Other few times in 2023. And now. It had a similar format, but even has decreased its quality, with the accusation, and the constant selling of products. Como puede contribuir la prensa a la formación de los deportistas?

The word amateur is great. I wonder if amateur athletes participate at the olympic games. It is good to be an amateur. It is a requisite to be a professional. I watched, very briefly, futbol total, or listened to it. I did the same in 2022. I did three times this year. Turco Husain has intersting comments.

Argentina, might be same as California has all those castellano hispanic names, instead as it native names, as it is in several places of Ecuador, or Peru, or Mexico, or other places, such as Cotopaxi, Ingpirca, Macchu Picchu, Totoracocha, Chaullabamba, Canaripamba, Teotihuacan, etc. I am sure there are native languages names there as well. But I was learning a bit of this place where several great players and coaches have born in Argentina: Rosario in Santa Fe Province. It would sound like a name of a place in California.

At least by a section, the bible has been translated in 4,007 languages, as of August 2025, according to wikipedia. But there are 7,396 known languages in the world. It is amazing that a person speaks fluently three languages. Pope Leo XIV might speak at least five. Pope John Paul II might be communicated in about 12 languages. The other day, I was amazed to listed to Roberto Martinez, coach of Portugal, who was a coach from Belgium in its golden era last decade. Although, he looks snobbish, somehow. He is from Spain. I just looked up in wikipedia, that he is from Catalunya. So he might speak Catalan as well. But I was amazed the other day to listen to him at a press conference to speak fluently Portuguese, English, might be Spanish as well, which might be his sort of native language. I was amazed how he shifted so quickly between languages. A coach nowadays, might be in the past, and might be ever, must be a great communicator. That is one of his/her main roles.

I learned that a friends painting took him about half hour to do it. Wow!

I learned a bit, but not necessarily fully understood yet, regarding quantum sensing, tesla units, protons, frequency or its conversation to frequency, signals, might be neuron signals.

I am with Bielsa, and might be with Correa, and with Piero, the singer, that the press is so bad. But of course not all the press. Luis Enrique, I think has opinions also about that. But I do hate clips in particularly, which can be also text excerpts at an specific time. The problem with those without the whole picture is that they can be taken out of context. But true. Sometimes, or many times, those clips, and one liners can be very effective and good. As in many things, all starts with the initial intention. Whether is understood or not is not the full responsibility of the one providing the opinion or message. I agree with that heads up by Benedetti from Radio Centro, who I listened briefly the other day, while I tried to catch up with the updates in Ecuador.

I learned that FIFA belongs to the Olympics. I wonder about how those politics also work, but that is far beyond my interests or curiosities. So, I might not learn about that.

In winter break 2018, I saw a bald eagle or might be 2019, I saw a bald eagle very close to me at Chabot lake on a tree. I might need to learn more about its symbolism in the culture, and since when was a symbol.

I.e. the condor is pre hispanic. It is even a quechua word, bad written I believe.

I love that there was a ecuadorian car, probably a chevy, which model was a condor. It was an ok car though. Nothing like the Ecuadorian Andina car, which was a sort of small truck.

Surprised that the Ecuadorian football restarted this weekend. Good for the competition, but I am surprised how a schedule can vary or be that subjected to change or conditions. I mean once I listened to the Kinito Mendez, who would be a great coach in my opinion, that once in his team at PSV he new all the activities for the year, and even next years. That is normal, and that is how it works in one’s discipline as well.

Oh, the other day I learned about the madeira or something like that plant. I would need to look it up. But I am always surprised and grateful to see the poppies petals open and close on a daily basis.

Screens, and plenty of noise are terrible, same as falling behind on an activity, or not exercise or explore. It might kill temporally the wonder. I think that food choices might kill the wonder as well. But I think, and might feel now, that every soil is restored, even if an even did not feel that good, or was not prevented well, or the on side decision was ok, it is likely that every soil is restored with common sense actions and activities.

At some point I might learn more about Rosario. Wonder who to ask about?

Oh I learned that guita is the hilo from the cannabis. They used it to weave or knit bags from guita, where people carry their money. It was the wallet of the times.

Pending some short descriptions of authors.

Oh. Time by time I forgot the succulent name for some common plants in here. I almost even said the word might be close to secular, by I was corrected by my description. Need to sharpen that name calling as well.

A few things I have learned are here.
