Wondering about the purpose of paper for reading and other things

When is gone is gone.

I have a plausible homeless friend, who cooks and eats, outside of the building that I often go. I think he also started to work on his computer on the second floor inside.

He said he has been attacked by the people who works in the building, who are probably just doing their work, which is also a terrible thing.

I read the other day about highly sensitive people because someone told me about it. This is another topic.

I might need to solve many things. But probably push harder, and stay focused. Also stay fully motivated.

It might be easier at times to disengage from life, and stay either focused on screens, or on the other hand to engage too much on enjoyable things such as reading, exercising, etc. Those are fantastic and one can be live longer with those, and should do them. But as I recall from C.S. Lewis, if I recall well, the theory or phylosopy of the pursuit, of happiness might be empty at some point. I agree to the point that sacrifices are much more fulfilling. Sacrifice any distraction to finish a paper for instance. But there are many more sacrifices in life that a boss some time do for employee, people for other people, friends, or within families. Give our own generosity or own truly self, quite often feels much better than any plausible pleasure, to describe the healthiest ones above. Which by the way one should do them.

I was on a state of pause. But from the topic in the title. Given that I must read more papers everyday, I am assessing on investing or an ipad. Do we read better on those vertical screens, or better to have something on the hand to do whatever.

Paper is much better, but now, more and more, it might be clear that it is death. We might be electric dependent citizens. Because life, housing, and land is kind of much more expensive now, where to store all the paper, which is also not too easy to clean up from dust, if not well maintained.. etc.. Long interruption.. I was assessing how space is a limitant for libraries. Particularly now where a library is much more a study hall than a book storage. Though of course the mix between both is the key for a library. Books around are so important. Also, otherwise, it can become a playground. Or a place with the same purpose. At the end we build on what has been written.

Thousand of years ago was written on clay? How many things a personal computer has changed. And for taking notes, I am actually starting to prefer the computer. It is becoming easier to organize. It is of course easier to store. But not so sure if I will use it on a classroom.

Time is just passing by. I won’t get bugged down by those things. Will just continue moving forward. And would keep that ipad decision on my list. Probably not now.
