Certainly yes, as they are in Berkeley, and everywhere. At some point we might come to realize that the Universe is just not flat, but there is something beyond it. You might want to call it the vertical dimension, if you want to think in physical or in hierarchal terms. Perhaps the latter one is a more appropriate nomenclature.
