The feast day of Saint Peter of Alcantara is on October 26.
I screwed up or delayed a bit my novena from Saint John Henry Newman. So I am adjusting things.
But I learned a bit about Saint Isaac Jogues, and the other Jesuits and more martyrs of North America in about the 16th century.
Alacantara, I believe is a Arab word, which might also come from a Greek word, and be closed connected to alacantarilla.
In any case, Alcantara seems to be in Extremadura. From where some of Ancestry might have come from. West border of Spain, east of Portugal.
i.e. The mom from Hernando de Soto, I believe was Leonor Arias Tinoco.
Tinoco might come from that area… Who knows?
Plenty to learn about San Pedro de Alcantara, and about Alcantara itself.
A novena is linked below. It says that he is the Saint of Nocturnal adoration of the blessed Sacrament. It is funny, that I might identify with himself being a night owl, recently, or ever.

Saint Pedro de Alcantara pray for us.
I will find some sources for the novena, and more info about the Saint himself as time might allow.
Although, I need to do continuous reading. I am reading now a work from Venerable Fulton Sheen, which has taken me some time.
As soon as I finish it. I will move on to read one or two works from Saint John Henry Newman, likely.
But I must finish the book on Fluvial Geomorphology by Luna Leopold, which is great and heavy to carry.
Should I keep reading more than one or two books every day. It might be inefficient, but fulfill a purpose of stay connected to the discipline, and also keep learning about several aspects of faith.
