It is a beautiful song, written by Omar Geles, a king in the Vallenato Genre. It has been popularized by Jorge Celedon.
I made a version in the guitar changing a bit the lyrics, because I did not know them well, and thankfully sent it to someone.
The version sang by Jorge Celedon is excellent.
A moment here to honor Omar Geles’s life.
Great write, the song is beautiful.
At some point I will read more about him, but the beauty of music is the simplicity to place a few clear truths in a few words with excellent acoustics.
Last year on May 21, 2024, It seems that Omar Geles passed away, at the age of 57.
It seems that it was a heart related issue.
Around 1997, interestedly, his band, Los Diablitos, and probably he wrote a song called si no me falla el corazon.
Rest in Piece, Omar.
