Drinking pressure

Alcohol indeed produces brain atrophy. Why is there drinking pressure then?

Of course it is great to enjoy a drink, mainly wine (pinot noir) or beer, or might be two. However, there is this culture of adding more. Then for what?

The next day is not that productive. It disrupts sleep. It shrinks the brain. It breaks a routine.

I think it is great to have a few drinks, because many true things are said without being strategic.

However, people also might have problems. Too frequent invites where there is more than one drink it really rises an alarm.

Only life teaches what is best.

But too strong drinks, and depends on the quantity are also quite bad for the stomach.

I am not afraid of alcohol. I think it is good to being able to have a drink and sometimes is needed. But I am afraid of frequency, brain atrophy, stomach issues, people drinking for the sake of drinking, etc.

I do not think that everyday or every weekend is a celebration. Probably good to celebrate in true spirit a few times per year.

For me all the drinking related social events, or even alone, have been great in 2024, except for the last one. There was some cognac, and drinking pressure. Then one question the real purpose of the meeting.

Is drinking the purpose of the meeting? Or is to enjoy a good conversation while having a drink?

By decreasing the frequency, and by staying focused on the daily activities, one even can have more topics to talk when the next meeting time arrives.
